Mountain running in Genova.

The city of Genova, Italy, is embedded in a mountainous region that is perfect for mountain and trail running. Runners can start from very urban places, and after a few minutes of ascent find themselves seized by unexpectedly fascinating views over the sea and the coastal ridge.

Mountain marathon in Genova.

Rigantoca is a non-competitive mountain marathon (43.21 Km), from the city of Genova to the inland. The run starts on the hill just behind the city (Righi), touches the top of Mt Antola (1597 m a.s.l.), and ends at the small village of Caprile (total uphill 1950 m, total downhill 1150 m). The itinerary develops along mountain trails from its very beginning, crossing a magnificent countryside made of old hamlets, forests and highlands. If runners are lucky enough (unlike the 2008 edition!) they will enjoy a breathtaking view from Mt Antola top, almost at the end of their struggling effort.

FINGERSTYLE GUITAR

Fingerstyle is a guitar technique, also applicable to other instruments, like banjo and ukulele, making use of fingertips and fingernails, rather than of a plectrum. It is used for classical and Spanish guitar, and for other music genres, such as blues, ragtime, country, jazz, bossanova and various regional styles.
