I am a Professor at the University of Piemonte Orientale, NW Italy.

My Degree and Ph.D. theses focused on the behavioural ecology of the Pallid Swift. Later I studied the behaviour and ecology of the Black Redstart in the Alps, and Moorhen, Carrion Crow, Magpie and Partridges in the Alessandria province NW Italy, the Florida Scrub Jay in Florida, the Sacred Ibis in Vercelli province.

I studied the ecology of invertebrates (Odonates, freshwater invertebrates). I am also interested in applied and ecological studies of the fauna (birds, bats), bird atlases and GIS applications, population genetic.

I am involved in the Scientific Board of the ANP (Associazione Naturalistica Piemontese) and the association Monumenti Vivi.
I was elected as a member of the CUN (Consiglio Universitario Nazionale) for the period 2007-2010,
